The slow food movement

While in today's society there are many people who seem to follow the fast food trend because it fits into their everyday lifestyle (its quick easy and relatively cheap), there are also many people who seem to be doing the opposite.  There is a new trend called 'slow food' which has become an international sensation where people avoid fast food, microwavable food, frozen food, and instead cook everything 'the slow way' but also the most healthy way.

Slow Food is a non profit organisation which promotes awareness of local food traditions, what we eat, where our food comes from, what it tastes like and most importantly how what we eat affects us, our community, our planet and our international neighbours.

This trend started in Italy and there are now websites for most major countries where you can find local food suppliers to not only cook home made healthy meals, but also support local businesses and produce, while also supporting sustainability.
